Dependents

 

 

This function provides for the creation and maintenance of an employee's dependent information.

 

Information entered here is used in conjunction with the employee's benefit plans where applicable.

 

After Division and Employee Selection, the system displays a list of the employee's Current Dependents at the bottom of the page.

Edit/Remove

To make changes, click in the desired row to display the dependent's details and enter the new data in the related fields.

To delete a dependent, click Remove.

Add Dependent

 

Select/enter dependent data as follows:

Field

Description

Dependent Last Name

By default, the system populates this field with the employee's last name.   If incorrect, enter the correct name in the  text box.

Sex

The dependent’s gender, Male or Female, selected from the drop-down box.

Relationship

The nature of the relationship (wife, husband, son, daughter, etc.) between the employee and the dependent person.

First Name

The dependent’s first name.

Birth Date

Enter directly into the field (mm/dd/yyyy) or select it from the pop-up calendar.

Social Security Number

Enter directly into the field (dashes not needed). If the SSN already exists, the system displays an appropriate message.

Dependent Type

Further defines relationship between the employee and the dependent person for standardized benefit plan reporting. (User defined in the Look-up Tables  tab of the Administration>Configuration function
